United Arab Emirates - The Minister of Environment and Water for the United Arab Emirates announced in Dubai that a three-year plan to promote water conservation and to shift from using groundwater to using desalinated seawater was underway.
United Arab Emirates - The Minister of Environment and Water for the United Arab Emirates announced in Dubai that a three-year plan to promote water conservation and to shift from using groundwater to using desalinated seawater was underway. A public-awareness campaign will focus upon the sustainable use of water and the importance of protecting the environment. Mohammad Saeed Al Kindi also said that the Ministry would monitor 183 wells for water quality, complete 11 new pipelines, provide modern irrigation systems for about 1000 farms, and develop a national plan for dam maintenance.
